General Poyet thought he would be giving his team a reward when he took
the Gatos Negros to the Michelin Star restaurant "L' Emirates" for a
gourmet meal. Unfortunately, he had not realised that Head
Chef Wenger had chosen to put them on the menu as a couple of Giroud
starters left the team suffering with severe food poisoning.
In
between courses, General Poyet decided to take off Johnson for choosing
the restaurant and Altidore due to indigestion and for having come from
a country well known for a lack of taste in food. In their place he
brought on Larsson in the vain hope that he would bring one of his 'Epic
Swedish Mealtimes' to the table and Giaccherini only because he'd
brought a bucket of pasta along with him from home.
Sadly, this
did not change matters as Wenger's waiting staff carved up the
Sundevideo defence once again before serving up a 'Koscielny Suprise' to
finish. Only Giaccherini made it to dessert, sliding an expert volley
of ice cream past Szczesny. General Poyet could not take comfort from
this as he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth and rather large
bill to pay.
